Singapore, Aug 27: Bloomingdale Public Relations Pte. Ltd. has appointed Parikshit Sharma as Regional Director - Southeast Asia, strengthening its Singapore leadership as the firm expands its regional footprint. Sharma will lead the Singapore headquarters and drive growth across Southeast Asia, including the India-Singapore business corridor.
Bloomingdale has taken a strategic call to bring leadership from outside traditional PR, recognising that the communications landscape today demands a broader understanding of business, consumers, culture and brand building. Sharma brings more than 20 years of experience across marketing, brand activation, experiential strategy and consumer engagement, with a career spanning Asia, Africa and Australia. He has held senior roles at DDB Mudra, Ogilvy Action, Wunderman Thompson and Havas Media Group. Since 2018, he has been based in Singapore, where he has been advising ASEAN and Australian brands on retail, activation and digital engagement, including relaunch work for Intel and Nokia.
In his new role, Sharma will build Bloomingdale’s Singapore client base, deepen its capabilities across Southeast Asian markets and lead its India-Singapore corridor strategy. His mandate will include working with brands expanding from India into Southeast Asia, as well as international businesses looking to enter or strengthen their presence in India.
Diana Fernandes, Founder & Group CEO, Bloomingdale Public Relations Pte. Ltd., said,
“We have always seen Singapore as a hub for Bloomingdale, not simply another market we operate in. It gives us a vantage point into Southeast Asia and allows us to build relationships with the region’s brands, businesses, media and decision-makers from within the ecosystem. As we deepen our presence across SEA, we wanted leadership on the ground that could think beyond Singapore and help us build the region as a connected communications market.
That is also why we deliberately looked beyond traditional PR backgrounds. Communications has changed dramatically. It now sits at the intersection of business, culture, technology, consumer behaviour and reputation, and the best communications leaders need to understand that larger picture. Parikshit brings that wider lens, along with the experience of building brands and understanding businesses from multiple perspectives.
His ability to look at communication beyond the traditional boundaries of PR makes him a natural fit for where Bloomingdale is headed. We believe his experience and perspective will help take our PR offering to the next level and strengthen our ability to create meaningful impact for clients across Southeast Asia.”
Parikshit Sharma said,
“Throughout my career, I have been driven by one fundamental question: what makes people notice, trust, and choose a brand. That understanding has shaped my approach to communication and reputation building.
Today, PR is no longer just about media coverage. It is about understanding the business, the consumer, the culture and the reputation of a brand, and bringing those perspectives together. Southeast Asia is also not one market. Each country has its own media landscape, consumer behaviour, business culture and regulatory environment. Having worked across ASEAN, India, Africa and Australia, I see an opportunity to build a regional practice that understands those differences while helping brands navigate them with a much broader perspective.
Ultimately, for me, it is about being an accountable PR partner to our clients; understanding their business, contributing meaningfully to their growth, and taking responsibility for building and protecting their reputation as they grow.”
Sharma brings over 20 years of experience across brand building, consumer behaviour and retail. At Wunderman Thompson, he led a festival shopper campaign spanning ten Tata retail brands, including Tanishq, Titan, Croma and Westside. At Ogilvy Action, he spearheaded rural activation for Hindustan Unilever, reaching more than four million households. His shopper marketing work at DDB Mudra won Gold and Silver at the Abby Awards.
Bloomingdale’s Southeast Asia practice works with regional brands building credibility at home, international brands entering the region, and Indian companies expanding eastward. The firm advises more than 40 brands across twelve sectors, including listed companies. Sharma’s appointment is part of Bloomingdale’s broader plan to strengthen its international leadership and build Singapore as a strategic hub for its Southeast Asia operations.
