Kolkata, Aug 8: South Bengal is likely to witness a fresh spell of increased rainfall from Tuesday as a depression over the Bay of Bengal strengthens monsoon activity over the region.
The weather system is expected to bring more widespread showers and spells of heavier rain across parts of South Bengal, following intermittent rainfall in recent days. The change in weather is likely to bring some relief from persistent humidity, although intense spells could create temporary disruption in several areas.
Kolkata and neighbouring districts may experience slower traffic, waterlogging in low-lying locations and difficulties for commuters during periods of heavy rain. Outdoor activities and local travel could also be affected if rainfall becomes prolonged.
