Jaipur, Apr 04th: There is a quiet shift taking place in Indian menswear. One that moves away from spectacle and toward sensation. Away from embellishment and toward experience.
For Summers, Pleyne Jaipur-based label reimagines occasionwear through a softer lens, where garments are not just worn, but lived in.
At the core of the collection lies fabric manipulation as craft. Instead of relying on heavy embroidery, the garments explore pleating, folding, and subtle structural detailing to create depth. The result is a tactile richness that reveals itself gradually, rewarding a closer look.
Silhouettes remain rooted in familiarity. Kurtas, bandhgalas, and layered separates are reworked with lighter construction, allowing them to hold form without stiffness. Movement becomes effortless. Breathability becomes integral.
The palette follows a similar sensibility. Soft neutrals, sun-washed tones, and muted pastels replace traditional festive contrasts. The visual language is restrained, yet expressive in its own way.
“Summer dressing has always been about compromise, either in comfort or in presence. We wanted to eliminate that choice entirely. The idea was to create garments that feel as light as they look, without losing their sense of occasion,” says Chirag Sogani.
This approach brings a new dimension to occasionwear. One where ease is not an afterthought, but the starting point. Where structure feels gentle, and detail feels intentional.
In a season defined by heat and movement, this evolution feels both necessary and considered.
