Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence (Deemed to be University), concluded the third day of its 33rd Convocation on Sunday, 23 November 2025, in Manipal. The ceremony underscored MAHE’s commitment to nurturing competent graduates, fostering transformative thinking, and upholding academic rigor and excellence across disciplines. On this day, a total of 1,645 students were awarded degrees, including 58 PhD graduates, and three exceptional students were honored with the prestigious Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal.

Delivering the convocation address as Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Hany Eteiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, urged the graduating batch to build a legacy grounded in kindness. He emphasized the growing importance of empathy and effective communication in today’s technology-driven world.
“Effective communication is our bridge, allowing us to translate knowledge into meaningful impact and care,” he remarked. He reminded graduates that knowledge finds true purpose only when paired with humanity, attentive listening, and genuine connection.
Dr. Eteiba also stressed the value of collaboration, noting that “no milestone is achieved alone, no success is created in isolation.” He encouraged graduates to learn from co-workers, treat them with respect, and anchor their professional journeys in trust, dignity, and human-centered leadership. Envisioning a future where technology and empathy work hand in hand, he emphasized the need to move forward with knowledge, integrity, compassion, and respect for all.
This vision aligned with the address of Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, VSM (Retd), Vice Chancellor, MAHE, who highlighted the university’s efforts to serve local communities and preserve living cultures. He reiterated the importance of extending education beyond academics to cultivate care, compassion, and responsibility among students. Through immersive, real-world experiences that enrich the environment and safeguard heritage, MAHE continues to nurture empathy, global perspectives, and academic excellence.
Continuing its legacy of honoring excellence, the ceremony celebrated individual achievements with the announcement of the Dr. TMA Pai Gold Medal 2025 recipients:
Ms. Nidhi S. (ME, Big Data Analytics, MSIS)
Ms. Kashika Anil Kini (BCom Professional)
Ms. Zhara Mohiddin (IPM, Manipal Institute of Management)
The medalists expressed deep gratitude and emotion as they reflected on their journeys. They noted that while this moment marks the culmination of years of dedication, it also represents the beginning of a new chapter of responsibility—an opportunity to give back to MAHE and the broader community.
The third day of the 33rd Convocation celebrated the exceptional accomplishments of MAHE’s graduates and reaffirmed the institution’s mission to nurture responsible, empathetic, human-centric leaders equipped for a rapidly evolving, tech-driven world. The day concluded on an inspiring note, with students, families, and faculty looking forward to the upcoming ceremonies.
